I want to hold you close and whisper true things,
Bind you to me softly with silken cords
Of tenderness and gentle comfort.
Cradle flesh and feeling,
Sing lullabies and soothe.
Cup your heart and tremble with every beat.
All so fragile, this latticework of birds' bones
And dewy spiders' webs,
I fear I'll break a small piece with clumsy hands
Or words
And watch it crumble into dust and memory.
by the way, this is stunning.
